How it works

A short ACL diagnostic, not a full practice test

The point is to see how your student currently reasons and writes before prep begins, then give your family a practical read on readiness for AOS and AET admissions.

1

Complete one STEM reasoning sample

Students work through a compact problem that reveals logic, setup, precision, and explanation habits.

2

Complete one ACL-style writing response

Students answer a focused writing prompt so we can evaluate clarity, structure, evidence, and development.

3

Receive a parent-ready report

We summarize readiness, identify the biggest gaps, and recommend the next prep path only if support would help.

What the report includes

Specific feedback Loudoun parents can actually use

The report is designed to answer the real question: is my student ready for the ACL STEM and Writing assessments, and what should we work on first?

  • Overall readiness band based on current STEM reasoning and writing.
  • STEM notes on setup, logic, spatial/quantitative reasoning, precision, and explanation.
  • Writing notes on structure, clarity, evidence, development, and control.
  • Top improvement priorities for the next few weeks of prep.
  • A recommended next step: self-paced prep, small group coaching, or targeted practice.

No generic score sheet

We do not send a one-line verdict or pretend this is official LCPS scoring. The report is written after reviewing your student's actual diagnostic responses.

  • Readiness band A plain-English view of whether the student looks early, developing, competitive, or advanced for this stage.
  • STEM priorities Where the student loses ground: setup, logic chain, calculation, spatial reasoning, or explanation quality.
  • Writing priorities Whether the response needs stronger organization, sharper examples, more precise language, or better development.
  • Next prep path Whether the student should focus on foundations, feedback cycles, timed practice, or advanced polish.

Why this helps

See the feedback before buying the prep

ACL prep is hard to evaluate from a program description alone. A zero-obligation diagnostic lets families see how AcademiesPrep analyzes STEM reasoning, writing quality, and admissions readiness before making a bigger decision.

Parents see what is actually missing

A student can be strong in school and still need help translating that ability into timed reasoning and written assessment performance.

Students get a clearer first target

Instead of guessing whether to drill math, write more, or take full practice tests, families leave with a smaller set of priorities.

No enrollment pressure

The report should help your family make a better decision, even if that decision is to wait, self-study, or do only targeted prep.

Find out where your student stands

The diagnostic is intended for AOS and AET applicants preparing for ACL admissions. It is not official scoring and it does not guarantee an outcome; it is a practical readiness check before your family commits time or money to prep.
